Well, this man (one of the oldest men in our area that we know) named Obapui
beat it with a stick and then grabbed it’s head and neck and snapped it’s
neck. In the photo Obapui is the one standing on the right.

I was working in the garden when I found this little guy – I am not sure what type he is, we have several spieces of very small snakes – Eastern Brown Snake, Worm Snakes. The markings are not that of the brown snake, and that is what I usually find in theyard. I relocated him to the rosemary garden – the dogs will never find him in there.

They didn’t have any .38′s so I got this. More info. . . Snakes!!!!! (Not where I live.) When U pull the trigger, U can hear the hammer slam into the steel . . . such a lovely sound and then BANG, a massive explosion!
Map link shows where I saw the Rattlesnake.

Do view on black.
The trouble with on-the-move night photography is that most of the shots require a tripod to avoid camera shake for those longer exposures…
I enjoy walking, but it really bugs me that there’s just nowhere interesting to walk to around here. No matter which direction you go in, it’s just the same damn streets and the same damn houses. To think, there are actually people living on beaches somewhere. I feel like a fish out of water.

It was hard to see who was chasing who but it looked as if the birds were chasing the snake away.

On the way to Pelion Hut, we saw what I believe was a Tiger snake, Notechis scutatus . It was lying next to the trail, and moved away rather slowly. I was able to catch this shot.
Tasmania has three species of land snake:
Tiger snake, Notechis scutatus
Lowland copperhead, Austrelaps superbus
White-lipped snake, Drysdalia coronoides
All three Tasmanian species are capable of injecting venom, although the venom of the white-lipped snake has never been recorded as causing death to a human.

Got him! I tried the first time I walked by the bridge and I scared him. I went back half an hour or so later and sneaked up on him. Some species of Nerodia, I think, but I don’t know which one.
