"From a series examining the culture of surveillance in relation to contemporary youth, primarily as a response to Anita Corbin’s ‘Visible Girls’. I drew upon the physiognomic practice of photographers such as Alphonse Bertillon to direct the project’s compositional style, which in turn developed my interest in photographing photography as an act. The camera is presented as an object of repression, enforcing their subjects to become submissive in the process." Thomas Evans, May 2007
